The other role of the woman is to submit to her husband (2)

His position in the society or Church does not affect his authority over his wife. The wife married to him must accept and acknowledge the position given to him by God; that he is the head of his wife only.

When this happens, it only signifies that the wife is respecting the authority given to her husband by God.

This divine arrangement does not imply that women are in any way inferior to men or men superior to women. Both men and women are equal before God and both of them have been given or assigned roles in the home and in the Church by God.

This is elaborated by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:12, where it is stated that; ‘for as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. God is the head of Christ (though both are essentially equal) Christ is the head of the man and the man is the head of the woman.

Marriage being the institution of God, would function smoothly if everything pronounced by Him is adhered to, and consequently most of the problems encountered in the union of marriage would be avoided.

John 14:23-24 says; ‘To love Jesus is to obey His teaching.’ Jesus said: ‘If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.’

I, therefore, implore you married women: submit to your husbands, as such is the word of God and required of you for a healthy union in marriage.
