With work on Limbani Banda’s DVD titled Free Man in a Free World completed, fireworks are likely on the day of the launch September 30 at Blantyre Sports Club.

The launch will follow a pre-launch party at a venue yet to be confirmed. Banda says the DVD has taken four years to complete.

He says the day will be characterised by reggae vibes backed by lyrics that have missed in the local reggae music world for a long period. Banda’s reggae fans should rest assured of well-mixed songs with audio and visuals.

The DVD will hit the market before the launch to give the public chance to watch and listen so they patronise the launch in Blantyre and subsequent shows countrywide.

Banda hinted that the DVD has 10 tracks and a bonus of Chisoni Nkumatenda released in 1998.

“All my fans and those interested to sample my live performances should come in large numbers because Limbani Banda is here to stay,” he said.

The pre-launch party will be spiced up with raffle draws, free meat and assorted drinks as patrons mingle and dance to the reggae compositions.

“I have been working on the DVD since 2009. My focus is quality and nothing at all. I am not in rush when doing my projects because I want to give my fans the best. Everything is finalised and discussions are taking place for other musicians to join me in the launch,” he said.

According to him, all songs have messages worth adhering to, for example, the Bumpy Road track explains real life issues and assurances that there is no need to give up.

“I am in talks with the Black Missionaries so that they come to the launch as well as Maskal, Dan Lu. Hannibal from South Africa is likely to come for the launch,” said Banda.

He said his songs also speak about having peace of mind and humanity.
