Third edition of Ufulu Independence feast on

As the country draws closer to July 6, its independence commemoration day, Ufulu Festival has confirmed that it is all set to offer a platform for the Malawian youth and families to celebrate the day with music and dance.

Under the theme Celebrating Culture, Freedom And Creativity, the event will take place at Civo Stadium in the country’s capital city Lilongwe.

One of the artists expected to grace the festival: Suffix

In an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana), Ufulu Festival event manager, Humphreys Mkandawire said the day will provide fun and a safe environment for Malawians.

“It is important to provide a platform to honour this country. Therefore, the day will see Malawians celebrating the strides the country has made over the years.

“We have also spiced up the event with an exciting line-up of both gospel and secular artists to showcase their talents,” he said.

Artists set to perform on the day include Faith Mussa, Suffix, Kelvin Sings, Shammah Vocals, Kim of Diamonds, Sanjie, Taquaa, The Heart of Worship, Danny Kalima and Sir Creedy.

The event will also feature Ufulu Kids with performances by Utra, Julius Jules, Tiya Joan and a number of dancing groups.

FDH Bank has pumped K2 million for the event.

The event will be hosted by Malawi Broadcasting Corporation’s popular DJ, Joy Nathu alongside DJ Goxxy.

Malawi commemorates its independence attained on July 6.
