Three Malawian netball players are in Tanzania for a short loan stint with Uhamiaji Sports Club which is owned by Tanzania Department of Immigration.

The trio of Joana Kachilika and Emily Jere both from Thunder Queens and Joyce Mvula from Blue Eagles has been at the Tanzanian side for over a month now.

Thunder Queens general secretary Christina Mkwanda-Nsinji said the players were expected back from Tanzania next month.

“It’s not like they have been transferred. The Tanzanian club just wanted our players to help them out [on loan],” Mkwanda-Nsinji said in an interview on Tuesday.

One of the players Jere, said she was enjoying her stay at the Tanzanian club.

“It’s fantastic. I like the experience I am gaining here in Tanzanian,” Jere said. “We are going to be here up to next month when the games conclude here.”

This is not the first time that Tanzanian clubs have sought help from Malawian clubs.

Thunder Queens coach Mary Waya, who is also Malawi Queens assistant coach, also had a short stint with the Tanzanian club.

She was accompanied by three Thunder players Sheiraz Kaiche, Martha Dambo and Kachilika.
