Thunder Queens are confident of collecting maximum points in the Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) encounters against Gerald Tasaukadala Sisters and Shizaella Queens this Saturday despite the absence of Joana Kachilika and Emily Jere.

The games will be played at Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC).tigresses_thunders

Defender Kachilika and goal-attacker Jere have been influential in Thunder’s recent verve of form, but they will miss the games as they have been loaned to Uhamiaji Sports Club in Tanzania for two months alongside Blue Eagles shooter Joyce Mvula.

“Of course, the two are some of the most reliable players in our team but we have equally good players, who will grant us victories this weekend,” said Thunder general secretary Christina Mkwanda-Nsinji.

Thunder Queens are third on 33 points from 14 games and they are six points ahead of fourth placed Prison Sisters and fifth positioned Alliance Capital Sisters, who are tied on 27 points.

Alliance Capital earned the slot after their 61-17 triumph over Tasaukadala last weekend.

Complex Tigresses top the table on 42 points after straight victories. The team is expected to take on Tasaukadala Sisters before the 3pm match between Thunder and Shizaella.

Tigresses thumped Shizaella 97-14 at BYC on Saturday.

Kukoma Diamonds—who beat hosts Zomba Airwing 90-19 last weekend and are second on the ladder with 39 points—will face Chilomoni Sisters at noon.
