Police in Thyolo yesterday recovered money amounting to K2 million that was stolen at Opportunity Bank of Malawi (OBM) at Fatima in Nsanje on Sunday. In an interview, Thyolo Police spokesperson Edith Kachotsa said they got a tip from officers at Fatima Police Unit that the robbers were heading to Thaboni in Thyolo. “We mounted a roadblock at Masambanjati Police Unit and when we conducted a search in a minibus, a bag with money amounting to approximately K2 million and documents bearing OBM stamps were found,” said Kachotsa. The police have since arrested Manuel Kika, 30, John Molosoni, 18, Phillip William, 20, Moses Gumba, 36, Bannet Eleven, 22, and Trevor Mondeya, 35.—MERCY MALIKWA, Staff Reporter
