Azam Tigers goalkeeper Nenani Juwayo and Evirom FC’s striker Wongani Zulu have belatedly been voted TNM Super League best players for June and July.

TNM and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) officials presented the awards to the two players on Thursday at Kamuzu Stadium on the sidelines of their respective teams’ meeting which the rookies won 1-0.

Both players said they were grateful for the recognition which each carried with them K15 000 cash prize, TNM-branded caps and T-shirts.

Juwayo earned the recognition for his telling saves that saw the Kau Kau set a new record of not conceding in seven consecutive league games.

Red Lions eventually stopped that run when they held Tigers 1-1 in the eighth game.

On the other hand, Zulu has been a consistent performer for the Ndirande side, Evirom.

Winners of the monthly awards stand a good chance of earning the Player of the Year Award. Gabadinho Mhango was voted last season’s top player.
