TNM Super League side Azam Tigers have said they have hired former Nyasa Big Bullets team manager Chancy Nsema in principle as their head coach.

For months, Tigers have been elusive about their next coach following the departure of Patricio Kulemeka towards the end of last season.

Alufandika: We are hoping to finalise everything soon

But the Kau-Kau Boys’ chairperson Sydney Chikoti yesterday said they are close to finalising a deal.

“He [Nsema] is with us, but we still haven’t finalised one or two things. But there is an agreement in principle and we are hoping to put finer details to it,” he said.

Nsema could not be reached for comment yesterday, but the club’s technical director Robin Alufandika also said they were on the brink “of getting things done”.

He said: “We were waiting for Mr. Chikoti who was away and now that he is back, we are hoping to finalise everything in a few days time.”

Nsema was on Kau-Kau’s bench when they whacked Mafco FC 3-0 in a league match at the weekend.

Tigers turned to Nsema after their former coach Gerald Phiri turned down an offer to return to the club at the start of the season.

During the first two games, the club was under the tutelage  of  its former players Chikaiko Bridge and Mapopa Musukwa. n
