Tigers technical director Robin Alufandika said they are hopeful that Fosko will take the team to greater heights.

He said: “Our ambition this season is to win the league and we believe Fosko is the right man for the job because he has experience in handling youthful teams like ours.

“The waiting is over. We have a coach who has all the requirements and is good at nurturing youngsters.”

On his part, the coach admitted that he expects a challenging task because Tigers have made  animpressive start to the season.

“Nevertheless, I am happy to take up the post and I am ready for the challenge,” he said.

Fosko, a holder of Confederation of African Football (CAF)-A coaching badge, is one of the highest qualified coaches on the local scene and has had stints with lower league sides such as Mchinji Boma Stars and Chikwawa United.

Tigers lead the 16-team league with 11 points from five matches.
