Tigresses, Diamonds face off in OG Issa encounter

Listen to this article

Defending champions Complex Tigresses and Diamonds will this Sunday face-off in a mouth-watering OG Issa Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) encounter at the Polytechnic in Blantyre.

This is a chance for Diamonds to prove that their recent two defeats by the Tigresses, including a 29-15 thumping in the GOtv Netball Champions League, were not enough proof that they have lost form.

It will also be an opportunity for the Griffin Saenda-coached side to salvage a win that can help them finish the season with at least one trophy from three competitions.

On the other hand, Tigresses, who are mentored by Peace Chawinga-Kalua, will be out to prove that their current form is a genuine one.

After losing 42-44 to Prison Sisters a few weeks ago, MTL Queens are hoping to reconstruct their tattered image as the two sides tussle for points at Cobbe Barracks in Zomba. MTL Queens and Airwing Sisters will tussle for honours in an early fixture at the same venue.

On Saturday, according to SRNL general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie, Diamonds will take on MTL Queens at Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC). Prior to that match, there will be the following fixtures: Tigresses vs Prison Sisters, Airwing vs Gerald Tasaukadala Sisters and Aquaid Queens vs Shizaella Sisters.
