The victory means Tigresses are at the summit of the log-table with 24 points from eight-straight wins and are three points ahead of second-placed defending champions Diamonds. Each side remains with a game against Zomba Airwing Sisters to wind up their first-round.

Thunders hold the third place with 18 points from eight matches as well.

An even start to Saturday’s encounter that saw Tigresses and Thunders tied on 3-3 in the first three minutes seemed to indicate it was to be a tight match, but Tigresses’ eight basket lead in the first- quarter and 11 at halftime proved a hard nut to crack for Thunders.

With shooter Sindi Simtowe scoring from all over the circle with incredible accuracy towards the end of the first quarter, Tigresses slowly but surely squashed Thunders’ hope of beating their opponents for the first time in years.

On the same day, Diamonds earned a 150-0 bonus victory over log-table anchors Antonio Sisters, who failed to show up.n
