Bingu Tigresses recaptured their top spot in the 12-team OG Issa Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) with resounding 130-16 and 120-20 away victories over Zomba Prison Sisters and Triggers respectively on Saturday.

Defending champions Escom Sisters also regained the second position at Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC) on Sunday following their 51-19 victory over Woget Stars.

MTL Queens moved back to the third slot after thrashing Chilomoni Sisters 86-15 before whipping Rock Queens 91-11 at the BYC on Sunday. Glass Bank Sisters moved two steps up the ladder, to the fourth slot, after they beat Chiradzulu Sisters 48-21.

According to Tigresses assistant coach, Charles Mhango, they are making efforts to score as many baskets as possible to ensure that they win a second trophy this year after the Presidential title.

“We will be complete champions on the local netball arena if we as well win the league title. The best way to do this is to score countless baskets in all our games,” said Mhango.

Newcomers Aquaid Queens anchor the log table without a single point after seven encounters. Chitakale Sisters are on 11th position with three points from nine games.
