Musician Tigris is working on a single Mphatso which celebrates her unborn child who is due soon.

The song is set to hit the airwaves in the next three weeks with a video out later.

“The title is Mphatso, as in a gift from God. My boyfriend, Gary McGarva and I announced my pregnancy last week and, it being an amazing thing to happen to us, I decided to write a song about how we feel.

“Mphatso talks about how grateful we both are to God for entrusting us with this gift of life that we are bringing into this world, it feels special. And we want to raise this child in the best way that we can, together as a family. It is a very special feeling. We are both excited,” said Tigris, whose given name is Angela Mizinga.

The song will be recorded at Audio Clinic studio next week and will feature two artists.

“I will have Mvahiwa Hanke and Uncle Layi work on it as they are both talented producers. And then I will have a rapper and a singer. I have not confirmed with the other one yet. Otherwise one of them is Faith Mussa. The other artist am hopping is Rina. The video depends on the producer really but what I want is that it be out by my birthday on May 14,” said the artist.

She said the song will also feature in an album to be released later this year.

“The song is actually just a single for now and then after the baby is born and I have regained my strength, I want to continue a full album whose title I will disclose when the time is right. I have not had another album release since Gimme a Break in 2010 and, of course, I have had an attempt with Dreams which I did not release, but the dream of my music has changed while I have been off the music scene.

“I am back in the studio and my album should be out by December. I already have written 11 songs and the recording studio will depend on where I will be a few months from now. It could be here, or England. But I will definitely release something end of this year,” she said.

According to the artist, she will soon get married to her partner, the father of the unborn child.

McGarva is from Carlisle, England and is a digital painting artist.
