Malawi has a new beauty queen. She is 24-year old Tionge Munthali.
The banking and finance third year student at Malawi Assemblies of God University beat 14 other contestants to win the coveted crown at Bingu International Convention Centre (Bicc) on Saturday night.
Tionge has walked away assorted prizes worth 7 million kwacha with a Nissan Tiida vehicle as the main prize.
An overwhelmed Tionge could not believe it as Khofi crowned her the Miss Malawi 2018.
Fighting tears, she made it out of the auditorium for a test drive of her very first car.
As the new Miss Malawi, Tionge’s main job is to be an ambassador on issues involving managing over population in Malawi.
Mwabi Mfune was crowned first and Miss Blockbuster while arguably the shortest contestant, Chimwemwe Buleya is the second princess.
