TNM, sponsors of the Super League, have said they are optimistic that the off-season break will not affect the Sapota Mapeto SMS promotion, which is aimed at generating more revenue for teams.

TNM marketing manager Madalitso Jonazi said they will keep up the momentum through adverts and promotions in the media. He said this during the eighth draw of the promotion held on Tuesday in Blantyre.

The country’s premier league is slated to conclude on December 6 while the promotion will go on until January 25 2015.

During the draw, it was revealed that crowd pullers Big Bullets still lead in the generation of revenue having hit K7.4 million with an accumulated hits of 229 094. The amount includes the K1 million bonus for being the first team to hit the 100 000 mark. In the past two weeks, Bullets generated K467 796 with accumulated 16 707 hits.

Bullets’ arch-rivals Mighty Wanderers continue to play second fiddle and have earned K3.1 million from 111 089 hits in 16 weeks.

So far, the promotion has generated K11 million for the clubs.

During the draw on Tuesday, a Zomba-based Bullets fan Joseph Ligomeka won a Samsung plasma TV, several others won consolation prizes that included cell phones, footballs, T-shirts and vuvuzelas.
