TNM public relations and sponsorship manager Limbani Nsapato said Saturday’s tournament is a continuation of the telecommunication operators’ engagement with corporate and individual customers using smart data and the golf platform.

“The inaugural Lake Malawi tournament in 2014 was a success and we want to build on it. Our goal is to add value to our customers’ lifestyle by taking them and their families to the lake for golf every summer,” said Nsapato.

He said using the golf medium, TNM has been interacting with its customers to promote awareness and functionality of smart data products and services and that the tournament in Mangochi will provide a similar platform.

“The smart data revolution that TNM is pioneering in Malawi is about providing customers with a convenient, high-speed mobile Internet,” he said.

Nsapato said TNM now offers Malawians affordable access through its combined platform as mobile data provider and Internet services provider (ISP) rolled into one.

“Following the establishment of TNM business services, we now offer Malawians affordable alternative access presented by our combined platform as mobile phone data provider and Internet services provider [ISP] rolled into one,” he said.

Saturday’s tournament has attracted 108 golfers. This year, TNM has hosted similar smart data-powered tournaments at Gymkhana in Zomba, Nchalo and Blantyre Sports Club.
