TNM unveils Cape Maclear Triathlon theme

This year’s Cape Maclear Triathlon which will be held at Lake Malawi National Park in Mangochi from August 26-28, will be under the theme It’s Great2Surf, organisers and sponsors TNM have announced.

TNM public relations and sponsorship manager Limbani Nsapato said the theme of this year’s competition is in line with the improved internet connectivity and data experience that they offer under the recently launched 4G/LTE network platform.

“Patrons should look forward to a wonderful and memorable experience as TNM will provide fast and reliable Internet coverage using our newly-launched platform. The theme Its Great2Surf suits the user experience that customers will get when they go to Cape Maclear for the annual triathlon event,” he said.

This year’s competition will involve 0.7-kilometre swim along the shores, followed by an18- kilometre cycle through the hills of the Lake Malawi National Park, and a 4.5-kilometre race.

There will also be pre- fancy dress party, canoe race, football and beach volleyball tournament.

Nsapato said during the event, TNM will showcase a number of products and services that are supported by the integrated mobile network and ICT service providers’ network platform.

“These will include free TNM WI-FI Host Spot service, and our latest offering the TNM Contract, which offers a bouquet of tailor-made postpaid services that are cheaper and flexible,” he said.

Nsapato said TNM’s network will make it possible for patrons to the triathlon to stay in touch by offering fast downloads and posting of pictures, videos and other media on the internet and social media platforms.

“As this is a sport, health, family, entertainment and tourism event rolled into one, a lot of exciting activities have been lined up to support the main competitive events which are marathon, cycling and swimming. Customers should look forward to capturing every moment and re-living it with friends and family beyond the triathlon,” he said.

Nsapato said TNM and event organiser Mizu Foundation will soon unveil their partners who have come on board to make the second TNM Cape Maclear triathlon a thrilling experience.

He said: “We have carefully chosen our partners so that customers and patrons to the event are well covered”

Mizu Foundation has partnered Ministry of Sports and Culture and Ministry of Information, Tourism and Civic Education in the organisation of the event.

According to founder of Mizu Foundation, Jam Kaunda, they want to raise money for a charity.

TNM has sponsored this year’s Cape Maclear Triathlon to the tune of K11 million. n
