Silver Strikers forward Tony Chitsulo has been spotted at Lali Lubani Road expressing interest to join Wanderers FC ahead of the TNM Super League second round.

He has been training with the team since Tuesday and wants a move to Blantyre.

“I want to be based in Blantyre so that I can be close to my relatives in Bangwe. I hope Silver will understand my case and let me go,” said Chitsulo who first expressed interest to join Wanderers in May.

Wanderers general secretary Dave Kanyenda confirmed that Chitsulo is with them and that they have already written Silver to open negotiations.

“Our technical panel has liked him and he could play a big role in our team’s quest for honours. We have written Silver to release him on loan for the remainder of the season. After that, we can discuss a permanent deal,” said Kanyenda.

Silver vice-chairperson Daud Ntanthiko said they are ready to talk to Wanderers if the player really wants to move.

“We are yet to get Nomads’ letter, but I went to their training and watched him train with them. So if he is really determined to move, we will talk with Wanderers,” said Ntanthiko.

Kanyenda added that they have opened negotiations with Tigers on the prospects of signing their suspended players Mapopa Msukwa, Timothy Chitedze and Mike Kaziputa.

“They are good players and they have shown that they will fit well into our team, so soon the four will be unveiled as our players,” he said.

Chitsulo signed for Silver in 2009 from non-league Bangwe Madrid after impressing in the CAF Youth Championship qualifier with the Junior Flames.
