Speaking in an interview after presenting his papers, Chazama said he wants to assist the communities to develop Ngala Ward which is under-developed. He also pledged to conduct an issue-based campaign.

MCP Central Region director of elections Richard Chimwendo, who escorted Chazama, said the party made sure that they chose someone from within the community who is a farmer.

On her part, Sululu also promised development if voted councillor.

The by-elections in the ward, scheduled for December 22, follow the resignation of Misheck Khomba on September 8 this year for doubling as a teacher and a councillor. n
