lost control of the vehicle

He said the two were travelling in a Toyota Carina registration DZ3682 driven by Usumani. Police said the two were coming from Jenda in Mzimba heading to Kasungu and upon arrival at Chipeta, Usumani lost control of the vehicle.

According to Namwanza, the vehicle swerved to the right side of the road where it collided with a truck registration T828 driven by a Tanzanian Hance Issah Mwakyoma, 32.

Due to the impact of the collision, the Carina was heavily damaged and Usumani and Victor died on the spot.

Meanwhile, the police have since urged the public to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and that those driving are qualified drivers. n
