Dear George,

I welcome your opinion on what the opposition must do to make sure that the DPP government does not go over-board.

But the main problem with you is that you always show your true colours that you hate DPP and I don’t know why.

Almost all your articles are biased when it comes to DPP.

For instance you said that DPP’s DNA has remained the same just because President Peter Mutharika is surrounded by the same old folks.

If it is so, what about MCP? You want to tell me that if MCP were to come to power makadi, nyakula, (forced purchase of party membership cards and mistreatment of those arrested illegally), Malawi Young Pioneers and many bad things would come back? I totally disagree because MCP is now headed by Lazarus Chakwera and not the late Kamuzu Banda or John Tembo.

Remember not all people are the same. Even twins have different characteristics.

A leader is a leader and not a follower and most of decisions are made by the leader.

If any decision is made not by him then, he would always have the final say before it is implemented.

Make your criticism constructively.

REMEMBER, BINGU cannot be PETER!

PETER cannot be BINGU!

Dear George

I have never trusted our Parliament because of the gullible ones you have mentioned. Nor have I trusted any agency of the government whose head has been appointed by the Head of State. There is always that inclination anga-ndichotse ntchito bwana.

What ACB says about taking on former president Joyce Banda speaks volumes. What would stop them from taking on Makande, Mpinganjira and others if the immunity is only for the President?

My understanding is that, if people mentioned were summoned by ACB and appropriate action taken, it would have been left to Parliament to take on the President.

It is very likely now that we shall be experiencing a repeat of past problems where the gullible people will continue to be used by APM. After all, he already knows the game. I thought he was the most trusted adviser to his late brother?

Now, how come that some are asking you not to visit his late brother’s sins on him? Yes, here and there they must differ. Do you think APM will allow ACB to investigate the K92 billion lost on DPP watch and the Jersey Island issues? I don’t think so.

I agree with your scepticism and the point about DPP DNA.

From me

What can I say? The issue is not to hate or like DPP. That time is gone with the expiry of the electoral season over three weeks ago. The matter here is how DPP will rule.

I would be the happiest citizen if the President were to govern differently from his brother, the late Bingu wa Mutharika, especially during his second term when power went to his head and brought untold suffering on us all through the bad laws and bad economic management whose results were there for all to see.

As for the rule of law, it is simple. Those that stole our taxpayers’ money must account for it and so the President is right that he swore to defend the Constitution and will not protect anybody implicated in the Cashgate scandal.

But selective justice is not justice at all. Cashgate started during DPP’s time before Bingu’s death. Inclusive justice must make sure that all thieves are brought to book.

It is only then that I will celebrate that rule of law is working in Malawi and APM will have a fan in me!
