Blantyre Police assistant publicist Andrew Mayawo said the two were arrested after Kasiya reported the matter to Kabula Police Unit.

According to Mayawo, police recovered a genuine pistol—loaded with five live ammunitions—and a toy pistol.

He said the weapons have been identified as the ones stolen from the house of a businessperson in Machinjiri Township on January 1.

According to Mayawo, the two suspects have admitted breaking into the businessperson’s house. They are expected to appear before court after investigations.

Nyirongo comes from Ng’onga Village in Traditional Authority (T/A) Chikulamayembe in Rumphi whereas Nyambo is from Nyambo Village in T/A Phambala in Ntcheu. n
