Uceda ropes in Chavula to direct third movie
Recent invitation of popular Nollywood actors by Malawian group Rising Choreos Theatre in the country and featuring of the company’s director Joyce Mhango-Chavula in Nollywood movies might have built a strong image about Chavula’s experience in movie production.
With just a year since setting its foot on the movie production industry, United for Culture and Development Agency (Uceda) has seen success in involving Chavula who is regarded as one of the best local female actors in their new movie.
Uceda director Pascal Bagaluza told Nation Online that his office has approached Chavula-Mhango to help them in directing their movie called Out of My choice.
“We respect the talent that is in Chavula. She has performed together with best actors on the continent. She was in Sierra Leone recently with Desmond Elliot for a movie shooting and we believe she has learnt some few things which can also help us improve,” said Bagaluza.
He said the shooting of the movie has already began.
She, however, pointed out that the new project will not affect her 2013 plans to release three productions.
Currently, Uceda is selling its second movie World Speech.
