Uncertainty surrounds a four-team pre-season tournament which Civo United are expected to host over two days from this Saturday.

Civo, Silver Strikers, Kamuzu Barracks and Epac have organised the competition to keep players in shape and raise funds, according to Civo United general secretary Rashid Ntelela.

“We felt doing that would enhance a spirit of oneness among the clubs. We also want to raise funds as teams have cash-flow problems,” Ntelela said on Monday.

But Epac general secretary Roy Mdechi on Monday said he had reservations on the event that was initially scheduled for the previous week, but was cancelled to accommodate Mighty Wanderers match against Big Bullets in the IntoSports Tournament.

“We have only had two meetings and nothing concrete has been agreed upon. If they don’t change dates, we may pull out. There are so many things that have not been done,” Mdechi claimed.

As of yesterday, one of the organisers Japhet Majekete was trying to get a licence from Football Association of Malawi.

Majekete, who once hosted Fellowship Association of Malawi Tournament, said he was only helping the clubs on gate management.
