Uncertainty continues to rock the return and the future of the Miss Blantyre pageant which has failed to take place in the last two consecutive years.

According to The Nation’s investigations, there is nothing currently on the table to give hope to the possibility of crowning a new queen for the crown. Organisers of the Miss Blantyre, Red Rose Modelling also revealed that they are yet to meet on the matter.

Red Rose Modelling, events and development manager Jessica Dorothy Kamoto who is also co-founder of the beauty pageant in an interview said she wants to see the new queen being crowned.

“I really want to see the new Miss Blantyre being crowned this year, but we are yet to meet to discuss how we can go about it. We have talked about it during our meetings, but we are to have a meeting specifically for the crown and that is when we can come to the media,” she said.

Kamoto revealed that her office wanted to run the pageant both in 2011 and 2012, but the wishes were shattered by lack of funds. She added that the crown still has no sponsors and appealed to the corporate world to come forward to support them.

However, Kamoto said after their first meeting this week, they will come up with proposals which will be submitted to various companies. She said her wish is to start the project before September and crown the queen a month later.
