Under-17 squad leaves for Cosafa

The Under-17 national football team this morning flew to Mauritius to participate in the Cosafa Youth Regional Youth Championship.

Although coach Deklerk Msakakuona has expressed confidence that his charges will bring a trophy from the tournament, he said the main aim of participation is to develop the players by giving them international exposure.

The 18-player squad includes 14-year-old defenders Halji Juwali and Innocent Nhlema.  The other defenders are Lexpat Sumaili, Henry Chiwaya, Moses Chipanda and Anthony Msiska. Midfielders are Chimango Kalinga, Gift Phiri, Bernard Kayange, Chifundo George, Francisco Madinga and Lawrence Chikhosi. Strikers Raphael Banda, Frank Chizuze and Chikondi Mbeta alongside goalkeepers Patrick Njolomole, Hastings Banda and Emmanuel Kanthiti complete the list.
