Unicef bails out MCM

United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) has given the Media Council of Malawi (MCM) two laptops and a desktop computer.

MCM’s acting executive director Vales Machila said in a press statement on Friday the donation was in response to a request MCM made to Unicef earlier in the year.

“The donation is timely and has come at a time when MCM is facing serious financial challenges and could, therefore, not afford to replace the damaged equipment,” reads the statement.

Earlier in the year, Unicef also donated a state-of-the-art multi-purpose digital camera to MCM.

The donations are in line with the partnership existing between the two organisations.

The partnership focuses on both organisations working towards alleviating the plight of children in the country.
