Players in the three top teams received a trophy each, courtesy of IntoSports.

The tournament, played on four-ball format was organised to raising funds for the construction of a swimming pool and a gym at MSC. The event attracted 64 players who raised K640 000 (about $2 560).

The Uniprint team comprised Aboo Osman, Billal Raidhan, Hussein Kara and Moshin Raidhan, who proved that the sport is now in the hands of youngsters.

The runners-up were V. Mozaria, B. Mozaria, A.Kane, J. Pereira, while the third slot was taken by the team of W. Abubaker, F. Abubaker, S. Akbaner and C. Osman.

MSC vice-chairperson Iqbal Aboo thanked IntoSports for sponsoring the tournament. He also thanked the players for turning up to support the cause of the event.

“We are impressed by the turnout, especially considering that some players have come from Lilongwe. This Lilongwe team won the second place. Apart from this event, we will be having various fund-raising activities for this project,” said Aboo.

Director of IntoSports, Shabir Ismail, said he decided to sponsor the tournament to encourage up-and-coming golfers.

“I am impressed with the turnout. I wish the organising committee good luck and congratulate the winning team on the gallant fight,” said Ismail.

The trophies were presented to the winners by Ismail’s daughter Saaiema Hanif.
