The United States (US) Government on Tuesday handed over to Malawi’s Ministry of Health four viral load machines.

Handing over the equipment to Minister of Health and Vice-President Khumbo Kachali at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe on Tuesday, US Embassy chargé d’affaires Lisa Vickers said the donation was made possible through her government’s President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (Pepfar) and the Howard University Technical Assistance Project in partnership with the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

The viral load testing equipment will be placed at KCH, Queen Elizabeth Central and Mzuzu Central hospitals as well as Mzimba District Hospital. The picture shows Kachali (C) being briefed on how one of the machines works.—Amos Gumulira, Staff Writer
