PP has weak personalities—CCJPP

DEOGRATIAS MMANA

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) has torn into the ruling People’s Party (PP) accusing it of having leaders who have nothing to offer but instead waste time calling names their critics.

CCJP’s attack on PP follows the party’s recent castigations against its critics. Labour Minister Eunice Makangala described those critical of the current government as sorcerers for failing to appreciate the “tangible” achievements of the government.

Council for Non Governmental Organisations (Congoma) chairperson Voice Mhone openly attacked President Joyce Banda’s economic reforms during Labour Day activities, saying they were hurting workers and Makangala hit back describing people such as Mhone as sorcerers.

Banda herself attacked Chief Bvumbwe and dismissed that he was missing, but busy drinking kachasu (the local distilled spirit).

Reacting to the recent stand taken by PP castigating its critics, CCJP says the party has weak personalities, who have nothing to offer and are practising fallacious reasoning.

“If we keep on having issue-less campaigning process, we will not meet our needs as a country. No matter how many development plans (MDGs, MDGS, Vision 2020) are put in place by technocrats, with such type of leadership, we will not progress as a country.”

PP deputy publicity secretary Ken Msonda hit back at CCJP.

“What CCJP is worried about is neither here nor there,” he said.
