Vietnam-based Flames striker Victor Nyirenda says he is available for selection for the Flames trip to China.

Flames coach has named a 25-man squad that has only one foreign based player, South Africa-based defender Limbikani Mzava, for the trip scheduled next week, where the Flames will play China national team on Wednesday, May 9.

Nyirenda, who plays for Vietenamese First Division side Dong Nai FC, says he can easily make the trip as China and Vietnam share borders.

“We are not playing during that week. We are playing at home on May 5, then again two weeks later so I can easily join them in China.

“But that is up to the coach and FAM to decide; otherwise, I am available and wish to be part of that game,” he said in an interview on Thursday.

Flames coach Kinnah Phiri and FAM commercial manager Casper Jangale who is sitting in for the CEO, could not be reached for a comment on chances of including Nyirenda in the Flames team.

The player has so far scored four goals in 10 games for his side in the 14-member VFD.

His side is seventh on the log table with 20 points from 14 games.

Nyirenda last played for Flames against Rwanda in a friendly game back in November 2010. Last year, he missed Flames action due to injuries.
