What makes a man strong, upright and well-respected?

What makes a strong, well-respected man? Is it being macho and facing challenges without a single tear? Is a strong man one who is feared by others? Is a strong man one who has many wives/women and has proven his virility by fathering many children? Paida Mpaso asks around for the definition.

Esnart Mushamboza from Zingwangwa

A well-respected man is the one who takes care of his family. He is the one who understands his wife or partner and supports her in her daily undertakings. He is also the one who is ready to do whatever it takes to continuously earn the trust of the people around him.

Madalitso Marekesa from BCA

Having a lot of women just exposes how afraid some men are of commitment; this often tortures them and they are never free. I believe a good and respected man is one who respects women and treats them like gold, which makes other women wish their partners were like him. He is also a committed family man and one whom people can always count on. As a result of this, people love and respect such a man.

Talimba Mkwate from Naperi
A well-respected man is the one who fears God. The fear of God comes with many attributes which include self-control, perseverance, strong will and more. He is also very respectful and understanding.

Shyly Sibale from Naperi

A well-respected man is the one who is responsible and is able to see what is really needed in the house. He is foresighted and people are generally proud of him. If that man is in a relationship, he makes his girl proud and believes in her, he is accountable for every action he takes and you can easily trust him. We all make mistakes in life but the ideal man rarely does it and if he does, he is accountable.

Experts opinion—Pierson Ntata

Society has defined men in different ways depending on the situation. For instance, some women may call a strong man as someone who cannot cry at a funeral or is able to stay home and take care of the family while other women may have a totally different idea of their ideal man. In some places, a strong man may be the one with many wives or girlfriends. In a nutshell, the making of a strong, well-respected man depends on the people that are defining the person with regard to different situations.
