White Belt Boxing Promotions has organised two title bouts scheduled for Lilongwe Community Centre Ground on March 6.

Dubbed Double Belt Challenge, the matches will see lightweight title-holder Salimu Chazama taking on challenger Chrispin Moliati in the main fight while super welterweight champion Limbani Masamba take on Chikondi Makawa.

“These boxers are crowd-pullers in Lilongwe and we believe boxing lovers will be more than happy to watch their bouts. Moreover, it has not happened before for two title bouts to share a stage,” said White Belt director Vincent Patel.

This will be the third time for Moliati to take on Chazama, who won the two previous bouts.

However, their last bout at Lilongwe Community Centre ended in controversy after boxing fans protested judges’ decision to declare Chazama a winner.

“This time around, I am for a knockout victory to avoid some questionable decisions by the judges. Chazama has been talking a lot of nonsense and I need to silence him,” said Moliati.

But Chazama said Moliati cannot snatch his belt.

There will also be two supporting international non-title matches that will see Zimbabwe’s Tinashe Mwadziwana and Nicola Mutonhora facing Tinkhani Kamanga and Alick Mwenda, respectively and a fight between Anisha Bashir and Ruth Chisale. n
