For the first time in history, MSC White got the better of MSC Orange on Sunday to win the Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) and Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) 20-overs social league.
Over the years, White has been trying in vain to cause a crack on Orange. They missed the opportunity by a whisker in the FMB 20-overs league final last year when they lost it in the super over.

But on Sunday, White finally sang a victory song after confining Orange to an agonising 129-122 runs defeat at MSC.
Orange’s Irfan Wadia top-scored with 52 runs to push his side to 89 runs in the 16thovers, but he got little support after White’s Hasim Khan got rid of their enterprising batsman Mohsin Jonty earlier than expected, with a stunning one-handed catch.
Orange captain Khalil Badat claimed three wickets, but his individual effort seemed too little, too late to change White’s predictable advantage. Aabid Rajah was instrumental in White’s historic victory as he made 42 runs and took a wicket.

“We are more than excited to have finally beaten Orange in a cricket final and this is the starting point of our dominance,” said White captain Karamat Chaudhry.
His counterpart Badat attributed the defeat to batting mishaps.
MSC’s newly appointed sports director and executive committee member, Abdul Wahab Jagot, thanked the players for maintaining discipline throughout the four-month contest.
