Will never go back to DPP—Kachali
Weekend Nation on Saturday reported DPP is in a recruitment drive and one of the people targeted is Kachali—who told the newspaper he was hearing about the development from the journalist.
Addressing a news conference in Mzuzu on Sunday, Kachali said he can never return to DPP.
“I want to make it clear that I have no intention of rejoining the DPP. Doing so would be like going back to Egypt,” said Kachali, in reference to the slavery life Jews were subjected to in biblical Egypt.
Kachali denied meeting President Bingu wa Mutharika to discuss his alleged return, arguing he last met Mutharika on December 11 2010 when he, alongside Vice-President Joyce Banda, were expelled from the party for allegedly forming parallel structures against Mutharika.
Kachali claimed he is a “big fish”; hence, the DPP is using his name as one of the new catches.
“If you read the article, they are saying I am a big fish. This is the reason they are targeting me, but I have never met [DPP secretary general] Wakuda Kamanga or anybody in DPP. Those stories are there to weaken PP which will form the next government,” he said.
