Wizards FC has appointed an interim executive committee as the team is preparing for the 2016 TNM Super League.
The team’s owner Peter Mponda confirmed the appointment of Ophmally Kondowe as chairperson, Amon Mluwira as vice-chairperson, Alfred Kanjere as treasurer and Patrick Chimimba as general secretary.
“I can confirm that the four have been roped into our new executive committee. For more details, ask our general secretary Chimimba,” said Mponda.
Chimimba said the executive committee will be on interim basis until they finalise the drafting of their constitution by the end of the Super League first-round.
“After we complete the drafting of the constitution, the executive committee will be ushered into office through elections,” Chimimba said.
Wizards FC were relegated last season, but they earned a late return to the top-flight league after beating Airborne Rangers in play-offs.
However, before they can start their games, Wizards have to fulfil the minimum club licensing requirements, including having an executive board, a secretariat and coaches that have at least CAF B coaching licence.
Meanwhile, Mponda said they have intensified their search for the CAF B coaching licence holders since the current technical panel has just undergone a C-licence coaching course.
