Women’s issues benefiting men too

Listen to this article

Akossa,

I have enjoyed the columns that are labelled women’s issues in the health section. They are very informative as well as entertaining. I may be an exception, maybe other men do not like the Every Woman section. I would like to suggest that you change the name of these pages. Though you are targeting women, men are also benefitting from them. But if you maintain the name, most men will skip these pages thinking that they are for women only, which is wrong.

Though most issues are for women, men come in indirectly. The other day I was reading on the effects of emergency contraceptive pills; I discovered that they bring some other issues that men need to understand.

As long as your paper tries to enlighten women to know themselves, it will be good for men to know their spouses. If men read that, they understand better why their wives are behaving strangely when they are on pills. From the day I read this from your paper, I have changed my perception of my partner’s excuses.

Thank you very much for being an Every Woman reader. It thrills me to learn, with each passing day, that men actually read the supplement and give a lot more feedback than the women themselves; if I had my way, I would change the supplement to Every Man! Unfortunately, we operate on a specific brief and changing the pages  is not as straightforward as you think. However, I would encourage you to keep reading and telling your fellow men about the benefits. If you have any health issues you would like us to address, please write to us and we will do just that.
