Coach for Tanzania top club Young Africans (popularly known as Yanga) Hans van der Pluijm has warned Big Bullets not to underrate their CAF Champions League preliminary round opponents Club Fomboni.

The Yanga coach gave the advice during a brief meeting with his Bullets counterpart Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan after yesterday’s morning training session in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

“They are improving fast and it will be suicidal to underrate them,” he said.

Africans have played Fomboni before. Van der Pluijm tipped Ramadhan on Fomboni’s strengths and weaknesses, in particular that they are good in counter-attacks. However, he still tipped Bullets to win the game considering the gulf in class, experience and past success.

Ramadhan then advised his charges to guard against complacency, saying they will be invading unknown territory.

Commenting on the first training, Ramadhan said he was happy with the players’ speedy recovery after their 20 hour-plus wearisome and exhausting trip by road from Malawi.

“They are in shape and they are picking up,” said Ramadhan.

He also said the approach in Sunday’s game will be to attack. Bullets were expected to have another training session in the afternoon after being hosted to a luncheon and a visit to the beach by their chairperson KondiMsungama.
