Yebo Gondwe wins Miss O’ Seasons

Yodelling gained momentum on Friday night at Key Lounge in Mzuzu as 22 young women from various colleges in the Northern Region city participated in the inaugural Miss O’ Seasons 2015 beauty contest where 18-year-old Yewo Gondwe emerged victorious.

The beauty contest was part of celebration marking the rebranding of Mzuzu entertainment den Key-Lounge as it transforms to O’ Seasons.

Music performances by BlakkJak and Sangie added colour to the event.

yeboGondwe, who is a third year student at University of Livingstonia, received K50 000 cash for emerging winner of the beauty contest.

Speaking soon after being crowned Miss O’ Seasons 2015, Gondwe said she will take modelling as a serious career having realised that there is a lot of interest in beauty contests.

She further said that she will use her current status to disseminate information on the dangers of premarital sex among her fellow youth.

“I am happy to have earned this status. At first, I did not expect that such a crowd can come to witness the contest, I will now take modelling as a career,” said Gondwe.

Charity Chingwalu was crowned first princes while Mwayi Msasa from Mzuzu University (Mzuni) was crowned Miss Smile.

In his remarks, O’ Seasons owner Gideon Nkhoma said he is looking forward to the usual support he gets from the public despite the change in name.

“Let me thank the audience for the support they always provide to me. I am sure that they will continue doing so despite the change of the name. Let me also assure them that the change will offer other good things,” said Nkhoma.
