Youth team holds conference

Youths in Wings of Revival Church have been urged to, like Daniel of the biblical times, remain steadfast in their faith even in times of trying problems.

The call was made last Friday by Pastor Lamison Banda of Bamba Wings of Revival Church in Ntcheu during the church’s three-day youth conference held at Phalula Secondary School in Balaka.

Held under the theme ‘With one accord in spirit, we can change the nation’ the conference for the Wings Revival Youth Team (WRYT) was attended by youths from Kasungu, Dedza, Ntcheu, Chikwawa and Blantyre.

“I gave them a topic on ‘Youth and God’ knowing that if they will not depend on God, they will easily be frustrated,” said Banda.

According to WRYT vice-president Alinafe Sitima, this was the first conference since the team was born in 2013.

Sitima said apart from prayers, the conference was organised to plan activities for the remaining part of the year and next year.

“We also explored ways of generating money to assist the needy among us. We want by next year to start subsidising half of school fees of our needy school going friends. We would also like to give starter-packs to those that want to start small business,” said Sitima.

“For that to happen, we need enough money and the conference has helped us to brainstorm on some ways of generating that money,” he said.
