Youths from Zomba City Presbytery of CCAP Blantyre Synod have been advised to abide in Christ Jesus if they are to become agents of socio-economic development for the church and the society.

Reverend Samuel Kalopa Mhone gave the advice on Wednesday during a youth retreat at Phalombe.

The retreat was aimed at equipping youths with Christian values that could lead them to salvation.

Mhone said the name of Christ Jesus is being brought to shame due to instability of some faithfuls.

He said many believers are involved in deviant behaviour such as drug and substance abuse, promiscuity and robbery, among others, that separate them from the love of God.

“Bad behaviour corrupt good character; hence, set an example in your speeches, actions and faith if you are to be productive members of the church and the society,” he said.

Deputy chairperson for the presbytery’s youths Fatsani Kantwanje urged the youths to use the advice given to them at the retreat, study the bible as well as pray at all times if they are to reach maturity in Christ Jesus. n
