Zambian Mampi dazzles fans in Lilongwe

Zambian music star Mampi, lived up to expectations with her scintillating voice and dancing skills when she made her maiden show at Mungo Park on Saturday night in Lilongwe.

Wearing sexy black and red attire complete with stiletto shoes, the former Big Brother Africa housemate arrived on stage at exactly 1:13 am accompanied by her dancing girls, Wendy (not Harawa) and Fides.

She started on a soulful note, playing songs from her new album Natural Born Star in contrast to high voltage performance from Wendy Harawa and Lulu.

But her composed stage stance was enough to captivate the capacity audience who had come to watch her.

Gradually, she went into top gear with the moment hit Wanilowerelarela, which is a hit in the local clubs at the moment.

The audience could not help it but sing along with her as she wriggled her waist in rhythm to the music.

She went on to play dancehall tunes Why, Swiriririand many other tracks that had the audience on their feet until she retired.

“I enjoyed it all and I am happy that Malawians have embraced my music. It was great to see them sing along,” said the R&B, dancehall songbird.

Prior to her entering the stage, Lulu and Wendy did a collabo which had set the stage for the Zambian artist.
