Zanzi Nightclub in Malawi’s capita, Lilongwe, took a break from pumping up the capital’s nightlife culture and donated K60 000 ($359) to SOS Children’s Village.

According to club owner Jamu Kaunda, the present was conceived to remember the orphans to have a perfect treat this festive season.

“This is the time when people share different gifts and we thought it wise to donate to orphans,” said Kaunda.

The donation was handed over to Chigwirizano House, one of the 12 orphan quarters at SOS Village.

Kaunda said they will continue supporting the village.

Chigwirizano house caregiver Violet Msekawanthu received the cheque and thanked Zanzi for the goodwill gesture. She said the money will help light up the children’s festive holiday.
