Immigration authorities in Zimbabwe on Wednesday deported 62 Malawians for travelling without proper documentation and overstaying in that country.

Confirming the development, Mwanza Border Immigration spokesperson Pasqually Zulu said among the deportees, 12 are women and two are minors below the age of two.

Zulu said the International Organization for Migration (I.O.M) facilitated their travel back into the country in a Zupco bus registration number ADS 4701.

The department of immigration has in the wake of the development reiterated its appeal to the general public to avoid travelling outside the country without proper documentation.

Zulu has also advised traditional leaders to be in the forefront advising their subjects to make sure they meet all requirements before embarking on a journey outside the country.

“Traditional leaders should also be on the lookout for individuals involved in trafficking in persons who coax villagers to accompany them outside the country on pretence that they will find good paying jobs for them,” said Zulu.
