Director for Zomba-based Killer Zone Entertainment, Christopher Kabagi, says artists have a crucial role to play in improving the welfare of the sick and other vulnerable people in hospitals.

Kabagi made the call when his team visited and cheered tuberculosis patients at Zomba Central Hospital (ZCH) to give hope to the patients as well as celebrate with them the birth of Jesus Christ.

According to Kabagi, patients and vulnerable people are crucial in the development of the arts industry as they are the same people who patronise the arts.

The group donated assorted items, including sugar, soap and squash.

“It is vital for every artist to follow and bail out vulnerable people such as patients as they are the same people who promote our artworks when they are in good health,” he said.

Speaking after she donated the items, recently crowned Miss Zomba, Beatrice Mussa, urged the patients to follow the medical instructions prescribed to them if they are to get cured. She emphasised that the items are there to complement to the food and other resources ushered to them in the hospital. n
