Kainga-Nangozo said as Muslims are fasting and reflecting, there is need for peaceful coexistence and love among citizens.

She said: “We need to reflect on our past deeds, forgive, repent and thank Allah for his blessings. It is also time to work together to develop our city so that it reclaims its lost glory. It is only through unity and peace that we can foster development.”

The parliamentarian said the donation is meant to assist Muslims who do not have enough to eat when they break their fast.

In his remarks, Sheikh John Waleke Makwerani from Mpunga Mosque said the donation by the MP has been made in the spirit of giving.

He said: “This is in line with what the period we are going through enhances. As for development, we are going to work together to develop Zomba City.”
