Blantyre Cycling Club earned the drop handle category through Misi Kanthumba.

“It feels good to be the champion. But it was not easy. Enough preparations has given me the current stand,” said Kanthumba.

Mapepa and Kanthumba got an SDV Mountain Bike each for emerging champions.

Kadewere received an electric lamp and a bale of sugar.

The race is used to raise funds for Round Table 69, a non governmental organisation (NGO), to support communities around Dwangwa.

Illovo Dwangwa Estate general manager Lal Bachan, who was also the guest of honour, assured the organisers of the race of Illovo’s continued support. n
