After an impressive launch of Kunditcha Fredo’s album in Blantyre a month ago, emerging local rapper and lyricist Fredokiss took the album to Gymkhana Club, Zomba, on Saturday where thousands that packed the venue were left breathless.

In an interview after the show, Fredokiss hailed Zomba fans for such an unprecedented gesture.

“There is always an innermost fear with us, urban artists, that you can’t easily get people come to your shows. People will always come to your shows if your product is good,” said the Blantyre based artist who is a Chancellor College graduate of philosophy and sociology.

The show—which began at 2pm and ended around 6 o’clock—was part of the Fredokiss’ Southern Region tour not just to launch the album, but also to expose other young artists.

“There are a number of talented youths in our midst who remain invisible because they don’t have access to medium of exposure. With the little I can manage, I want to expose some. That is why my shows are full of artists you have never heard before,” said the artist whose Zomba show was curtain-raised by six different artists from the district.

The show also saw massive performances from the Daredevils, Ace Dirty, Jasco and Genii Black.
