Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League’s Zomba United have received a setback following the resignation of their pioneer general secretary Wanangwa Jere.

On Tuesday, Jere confirmed that he was relocating to France; hence, his resignation from the relegated Super League side.

“My wife works for the United Nations and she has been posted to Paris. We are leaving this Friday. I will see if it will be possible to still be involved in football,” he said.

Jere’s deputy Kondwani Chavula has since been promoted to full GS in the team’s executive committee whose chairperson is Jameson Ndalama.

Zomba United have produced some good players such as Silver Strikers midfielder Harvey Nkacha, Escom United’s Manase Chiyesa and goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa of Mighty Wanderers.
