Zomba vendor wins TNM EPL promo

Zomba-based vendor Kingsley Potani has emerged the grand winner of K1.5 million English Premier League (EPL)  promotion following the grand draw conducted on Friday.

In promotion supporters were asked to predict scores for weekly games played in the EPL through SMS.

Potani, 41, expressed happiness when the news was broken to him about the grand prize.

“I would like to thank TNM for this promotion which tested our football knowledge by simply predicting the results. I would like to assure the company that we will continue sending predictions in the similar promotion currently running on the TNM super league,” Potani, a Liverpool supporter, said.

Speaking during the final draw of the promotion, TNM’s public relations and sponsorship manager Limbani Nsapato said the promotion’s objective was to engage actively fans in EPL.

“Let me start by congratulating Mr. Potani for emerging the winner of grand K1.5 million. For us as TNM we are very excited to have achieved the objective of this promotion which was to engage soccer loving Malawians to predict results in the most followed international  league , the EPL,” said Nsapato.

Apart from the grand prize, TNM in partnership with Starfish was also giving out K50 000 to three winners monthly and a weekly prize of K50 000 to one lucky winner weekly. Other prizes were airtime.

TNM on Tuesday also conducted a third draw of similar local Predict and Win as well as Sapota Kawawa where a Lilongwe-based football fan Andrew Magombo walked away with K50 000.

To predict, subscribers are required to send SMS of their prediction to code 1515 at least 30 minutes before kick-off of the selected game.

The two promotions were launched to create a platform for supporters to actively engage soccer fans throughout the 2016 TNM Super League season. n
